Today, Council-member Andrea Boone partnered with City of Atlanta Department of Parks and Recreation and the WCO for the unveiling of the John Davis Park. John Davis worked tirelessly to keep Westview's green spaces beautiful. This park is special not only to his relatives, but to the entire community who he served so selflessly. We are honored to recognize a man who did so much for the Westview neighborhood.

Thanks to all our volunteers today who came to This Old House: Vines edition and picked up tires in our neighborhood. We would also like to thank Jules & Eric for collecting the tires and dropping them off at CHaRM!

Check your alleys & vacant lots for tires that are needing to be disposed. Littered tires trap water that attracts rodents and mosquitoes. They also consume a lot of space, trap methane emissions and create a fire risk-- and tire fires are difficult to extinguish.  MORE INFORMATION

Typically there is a cost to recycle tires and you have to unload them at CHaRM, but our neighbors, Jules and Eric, have volunteered to pick up tires and drop them off at CHaRM. All they ask is that you email your pick-up address to development@westviewatlanta.org and have the tires at your curb by 8AM this Saturday, 4/13/19

In collaboration with the WCO, Georgia State University students have been collecting oral histories from the neighborhood's long-time residents. To that end, we want to reach out to interested community members who want to participate in the project. Specifically, the students are looking for photos, particularly old family photos, photos of the neighborhood, or pictures of familial items with personal significance. These photos may be posted on the WCO's website as part of this project and will be used in historical interpretation. If you're interested in contributing pictures to the project message communications@westviewatlanta.org. Thank you!
